Hithawathi had a discussion with a TikTok official (Manager, TikTok – Outreach & Partnerships Programs, Trust and Safety – Public Policy) on 6th December 2023 at LK Domain Registry. The main purpose of that meeting was to create a Community Partner Channel between Hithawathi and TikTok.

A training on “Fact Checking”: misinformation and disinformation was conducted by Ms. P. Sandamali, Fact Checker from Fact-Crescendo Sri Lanka for Hithawathi team on 30th November 2023 at LK Domain Registry premises.

An awareness session on Cybersafety and Hithawathi services was held on 20th November 2023 at Holy Family Convent, Dehiwala. School teachers and about 250 students participated in this session. The session was organized by Women’s Help Line (1938) – Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
Introduction to ICT industry & awareness on Cybersafety
An introduction to ICT industry along with awareness about identifying and mitigating Cyber Harassments was held on 14th November 2023 at Medamulla De Mel Maha Vidyalaya. This was conducted by Hithawathi in collaboration with Axiata Digital Labs (ADL). About 150 participants including Advanced Level students, teachers and principals of schools in that area and representatives from Zonal Educational office participated in this event.
INFOTEL 2023
There was a stall for Hithawathi at Infotel, Sri Lanka’s largest ICT exhibition 2023 organised by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS). Hithawathi leaflets, promo cards along with Suhurusara leaflets were distributed and raising awareness on Hithawathi was conducted in all three languages. About 3000 including many school children from all over the island and the general public visited there on 03rd, 04th and 05th November 2023.

MOU between LK Domain Registry and Axiata Digital Labs

LK Domain Registry and Axiata Digital Labs have teamed up to educate women and children on safe internet use. Prof. Gihan Dias, CEO of LK Domain Registry, and Mr. Thushera Kawdawatta, CEO of Axiata Digital Labs (Pvt) Ltd, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on March 21, 2023.
Through Cyber Surekuma booklets, awareness campaigns in schools, online webinars, and security videos on Hithawathi, we aim to create a safer online community for all.

An awareness session of Hithawathi was held on 20th October 2023 at the first event of DigiGo.lk at Galle. This was conducted by LK Domain Registry in partnership with FITIS (Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka). Owners of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the region participated in this event.
Launch of revamped Yeheli website
Hithawathi was invited for the Launch of the revamped website of Yeheli by Dialog. This event took place at Dialog Headquarters on 13th October 2023.
Consultation with CSOs working on CSGBV and GOHS
Hithawathi participated in a CSOs forum on cyber-sexual and gender-based violence (CSGBV) and gendered online hate speech (GOHS) to finalize country priorities to engage with Big Tech companies, held on 12th October 2023 at Colombo 3. Search for Common Ground (SFCG), Centre for Equality and Justice (CEJ), and Hashtag Generation as a Consortium has initiated this program known as “Caught in the Web” (CitW).
Introduction to ICT industry Awareness on Cybersafety at Wanarathana Vidyalaya, Gampaha
An introduction to ICT industry along with awareness about identifying and mitigating Cyber Harassments was held on 26th September 2023 at Wanarathana Vidyalaya, Gampaha. This was conducted by Hithawathi in collaboration with Axiata Digital Labs (ADL). About 100 participants including Advanced Level students, teachers and principals of schools in that area and representatives from Zonal Educational office participated in this event.
Hithawathi Awareness session at Susumayawardhana Vidyalaya, Rajagiriya
An awareness session on Cybersafety and Hithawathi services was held on 22nd September 2023 at Susumayawardhane Vidyalaya, Rajagiriya. School teachers and about 100 students participated in this session.
Introduction to ICT industry & awareness on Cybersafety at Passara Central College
An introduction to ICT industry along with awareness about identifying and mitigating Cyber Harassments was held on 13th July 2023 at Passara Central College. This was conducted by Hithawathi in collaboration with Axiata Digital Labs (ADL).
